Hopefully everyone is doing fine in these new circumstances, in order for our Troop to continue adjusting I am emailing you about our new way of signing-off requirements. Michael said in a prior email that the leadership team was working on a way to sign-off and I am going to be the ASPL spearheading this task. In order to track what scouts are doing and what they have done we are going to have a spreadsheet in order to see what sign-offs scouts have earned, and which they have completed.
To start this I need scouts who want to keep track of their sign-offs and keep earning requirements to fill out a form. When filling out the form I am going to ask scouts to look in their book and check down sign-offs they have already completed for ranks above their current one, so if your tenderfoot you may check off second class 1.A 2.D and first class 3.C. You do not need to check off requirements for your rank or under.
Each time we complete online meetings, and online presentations scouts will have the opportunity to earn sign-offs. Scouts will be assigned under leadership personals in groups and be given their emails to communicate. After each meeting we are working on a way for scouts to conference with their assigned person so they can then be signed off virtually on a spread-sheet. Please make sure your scout realizes that they will still be talking about the requirement and will have to pay attention during the meeting session as we will make sure they know the requirement to earn it. Once they complete the online session with their assigned person, the assigned person will go to the spreadsheet and sign-off on the requirement.
Any scouts who are star or above can fill out a separate form attached if they would like to work with other scouts on sign-offs. For that form we need your rank, age, and grade. The sign-off form is for scouts under star who want sign-offs, the sign-offers form is for scouts who want to stay active in the troop and sign-off on scouts.
The assigned people and scout groups will be released after the deadline to fill out the form. If your filling out the sign-off form there is no deadline, but we would like it by the deadline for the sign-offers form which is Saturday April Fourth. Once again that is only for sign-offers, but it is in the best interest of those trying to get sign-offs to fill it out as soon as possible as well. Please email me with any questions.
